Pom Poko

Pom Poko is ready to rock Storsalen! Come and see them live 18.02.2023

Named after a film by the Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli, Pom Poko arose in 2016 as a result of the jazz department at NTNU. They combine their jazz background with sugary and explosive music inspired by math rock, post-punk and West African music. Their debut album in 2019 “Birthday” received both the Spellemannsprisen and the Gramo Scholarship.

Pom Poko can't be said to have had anything but a comet career since the release of "It's a Trap" in 2017. In the years that have followed, the quartet has been nominated for several Spellemann Prizes, been creators of "Album of the Year" in Aftenposten, been nominated for the Nordic Music Prize, Bendiksenprisen and more, and not least toured all over Europe to packed venues. Now Norway's best live band is again relevant with new music, and only one year after the album "Cheater" saw the light of day in January 2021.
