Drugs, weapons and human trafficking are the biggest illegal businesses in the world. The latter especially affects women, as many are forced into prostitution. Trade that leads to violation of human rights is the livelihood for many individuals and families. How can these businesses be weakened without weakening human beings? White collar crime committed for economic gain transfers enormous sums of public money to individuals. Hidden business agreements, tax havens, corruption and whitewashing of money are difficult to uncover. ”Monkey business” weakens the legitimacy of the world market. To which extend can one require transparency, and who has the power to enforce it?
