Speaker: Desmond Tutu - Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and the former chairman of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa.

“I am because we are, and we are because I am”.

Togetherness. Belonging. Empathy. The African ubuntu philosophy emphasizes that we are made for interdependence. Archbishop Desmond Tutu will examine faces and aspects of ubuntu by drawing on examples from South Africa, from the abolishment of apartheid and from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. To what extenthas the ubuntu-mentality promoted peace and understanding? How can we implement this philosophy in peacebuilding?

It is not possible to buy tickets to this event in advance, however tickets will be sold at the main entrance.Doors open 30 minutes before the event starts.
