Scandinavia’s hottest parties at the moment are not Scandinavian at all. They are all about klezmer, electronic oompa oompa, Balkan brass and disco, Ukrainian and Albanian hits, Russian ska and Romanian synthesizer funk. This big hot clashing cauldron of sounds is called Balkan Beat. Hojfen Balagan, a 10-piece orchestra from Lund and educated by the finest of Serbian musicians, will kick off the show. Afterwards, DJ Prinsen Paulista from Oslo will spin his Balkan plates all the way to closing time. (Free for ISFiTparticipants).
