ISFiT-president 2013: Kaja Juul Skarbø
Wednesday night Storsalen elected Kaja Juul Skarbø to be the president of ISFiT 2013, and the theme for ISFiT 2013 is trade.

ISFiTs new president is 20 year old Kaja Juul Skarbø from Bergen. She is studying Energy and Environmental Engineering at NTNU, and was workshopleader for Workshop 8, Economy, at ISFiT 2011.
-I feel an indescribable joy and relief. I've been thinking so much about the election and being ISFiT-president, and now suddenly I am. It has not quite dawned on me yet. This is a wonderful, chaotic feeling.

The theme for ISFiT 2013 is trade, and the president wants ISFiT to look at trade as a means for social and economic development, but also to focus on how it can be an obstacle for development.
-Power structures, climate, trade and sustainability, trade from a human level and the ethical aspects of this are other interesting approaches. Trade plays a central role in the world today. It is a topic that needs more focus, it is a topic that needs ISFiT, says Kaja. -Trade concerns all nations and people, and is the cause of and solution to many of the world's problems. I would say that it is a solution-oriented theme, and that is what ISFiT is about: finding solutions for creating a better world.
ISFiT 2013s first functionary is looking forward to relaxing in the Easter, and let the impressions fall into place.
-I have plenty of time to think, create and find ideas for the festival and the process. What I look forward to the most is to find the people of the board that I will be working with for two years. I feel privileged and lucky. The challenges are lined up, and primarily I have to answer the big questions about the festival and the theme to add the framework for further work. I love challenges, so this will be good.
