In addition to Silje Halstensen, tonight’s version of Bendik consisted of drummer Eivind Helgrød and Erlend Elvesveen on bass. The three talented young musicians gave the audience an amazing intimate concert at Ni Muser Sunday night.

The room was filled. People sat along the walls and in front of the old carpet that made the scene of the evening. With Silje’s crystal clear, vulnerable and at the same time powerful voice, her devious lyrics, with a lot of noise of the good type from machines, gitar, bass and drums, Bendik opened a door into a dreamy world. What she herself describes as twang pop, is not any twang pop, but the kind that gives you an experience that can be described with clichés like goose bumps running up your arms and neck.

ISFiT-participant Ryan Eric Lamb from Bloemfontain in South Africa and workshop contact Randi Berggren was very excited about the concert. -She has a hauntingly beautiful voice. It’s creepy in a way, but still so beautiful. She’s like Imogen Heap and Björk togheter in one, said Ryan when we met them after the concert.
When Bendik announced the last song for the evening, they had to give in for the pressure of a cheering and enthusiastic audience. We got one extra song, before Silje and the band humble received another round of applause and cheering. What a voice! What a band! What a perfect ending of a beautiful ISFiT Sunday!
