What to do, where to eat?
When you are in a foreign city, it’s both nice and necessary to have some recommendations for e.g. where to eat, or what to do:
Café’s / restaurants:
For vegetarians, or if you just want a healthy and cheap meal, “Persilleriet” a lunch/take away place in the centre of the city, is the right place for you. Do you like sushi? Visit “Sushi Bar” in Munkegata 39. For lunch or just a good cup of coffee, we recommend “Ni muser”, in Bispegata 9a, “Mormors” in Nedre Enkeltskillingsveita, “Dromedar kaffebar” in Nedre Bakklandet 3, and “Choco Boco” in Elvehavn TMV-Kaia 3, Nedre Bakklandet 5 or Olav Tryggvasonsgate 29.
Cinemas / theaters:
Maybe you’d like to relax, or do something cultural? Go see a movie in one of Trondheim’s two cinemas; “Prinsen kino (cinema)” in Prinsensgate 2b or “Nova kino” in Krambuveita. There are also some theaters to visit; “Teater Fusentast” in Riddervoldsgate 28, and “Trøndelag Teater” in Prinsensgate 18/20.
Winter attractions:
Ice skating
In the middle of the city, outside the shopping centre Trondheim Torg, you can try out your balance skills in a skating rink. Skates can be rented there for 25 NOK per hour, and group discount is available. The skating rink is open during Tronheim Torg’s opening hours. This is a nice and fun thing to do with your new friends.
Nature close to the city: Bymarka
We say that the Norwegians are born wearing skis, and Bymarka is Trondheim’s ski place number one. This is a good place to go if you want to try out the Norwegian snow. You can go skiing or just have fun in the cold and pure snow with your friends. Bus number 10 will take you to from the city centre to the cabin “Skistua” in Bymarka.
