As a Participant
As a participant in ISFIT 2007, you will experience a conference as well as a cultural festival. During their ten days in Trondheim, participants spend the majority of their time with fellow students in their workshop group discussing and debating specific topics. Outside of the workshops, participants can choose between a wide array of concerts and cultural events, including the Ski Day at Granasen ski park. Days are long and busy but there's still plenty of opportunities for participants to relax, have fun and get to know eachother.
More than anything else, ISFIT offers participants a forum to exchange ideas, create friendships and have fun, which is exemplified in a quote from a previous participant:
"I've seen that what I've learnt last year has been very useful for me, both in understanding the lessons and explaining my ideas during the debates that we have at the university. I've also seen that my positions have changed a little bit thanks to that experience... In conclusion, I like myself a little more after ISFiT".
As for food and accommodation, participants will be living with host families in and around the city of Trondheim. The process of matching participants with families will begin in the fall once invitation letters have been sent out. Breakfast is typically eaten at the host family's home while lunch and dinner are scheduled in throughout the day at the student union or at the university cafeteria. All meals are provided for at no cost to the participant. Transportation to and from festival activities is organized via local busses.
